Who we are?

Laiser Hill Academy is a mixed day and boarding school on the outskirts of Nairobi, built on approximately 30acres of land, the school is an ideal learning environment, offering both the Kenyan curriculum and international IGCSE.

The school’s individualized teaching practices makes this an ideal setting for the pupils to maximize on their potential in academics in addition addition to pursuing their interests and passion in the cocurricular activities and hobbies.

Laiser Hill Academy’s mission is to bring out the best in the young pupils. We see the best in every pupil and empower them to make a positive impact on others, their families and society.

We are essentially a listening school, at the heart of all school purpose is the pupilin our care. Our well-crafted, clearly defined safe and transparent school practices in the classroom, dormitories and the co-curricular activities ensure every pupil has his/ her space to develop and grow. At the coreo fall school programs is a fair, equitable, and purposeful feedback and evaluation geared to maximize every pupil’s potential and passion. With an ethos of “to Greater Heights ” the school endeavors to add value to each individual pupil. With the mantra of “Success is a Habit” the pupils are trained to believe in themselves.

The school is proud of its achievements in its co-curricular programs and is a powerhouse in Basketball, Football, Rugby and Drama having won National and East Africa Championship in these categories. It is a platform for many young talents and pupils who aspire to play professional sports and/ orbe actors.

At the core function of the school is to build the personality and character of our pupil. We do this through various personality building and mentorship programs facilitated by experts in their fields. We provide in-house counselling and support through a qualified counsellor in addition to other programs.

 With collective years in Education, this formidable team is responsible for the academic standards and overall wellbeing of any child who joins Laiser Hill Academy.
The current captain of the ship is the Principal of the School. Mr. D.K. Mungai. An alumni of Lenana school in Nairobi joined Laiser Hill Academy in as a Geography teacher and has his Post Graduate Diploma in Education in addition to his Bachelors in Geography. He has been Principal since Mr Mungai, is often referred to as ‘igwe’ ‘the wise elder. He says, school is not about buildings, school is all about its learners, who are the beating heart of the school. He can visualize all his past students.

To him they are part of the school today as are his current students. He is the voice of reason and the epitome of great leadership.
Always there for his students, he puts all his emphasizes in creating a disciplined path and option for his Learners. He is a great believer of tradition and good Christian values. School is a place for his students to, not only empower themselves academically, it is a place where children must spread their wings and explore for themselves theopportunities life presents to them. In order to do this it falls upon him and his team to ensure that the environment in school is conclusive to learning. Focused, well thought and planned co-curricular activities and above all a streamlined evaluation system with clear expectations and outcomes. An individualized remedial program, crafted to provide every learner with an opportunity to improve and work on their weak areas.

There is something beautiful and good in every child and it is his function to identify that and work with it to ensure every learner is happy, safe and productive in school and is able to use his/her potential for the good of their family and
society they live in.
The Principal says “….. Success is never an accident but a product of a well laid out plan. In the bible we have successes that are the result of determination. Zaccheaus had to climb up
a sycamore tree to see Jesus. The woman who bled for many years had to crawl through many feet to touch the cloak of Jesus to get healing….”
At Laiser Hill academy we always say ‘Success is a Habit’. And we … make it our habit.

The Dean of Students Mr. Antony Kirimi fondly known to his students as ‘Buda’. Has his Master in English Literature and is passionate about his subject. A truly gifted teacher who moves and inspires his students in the classroom. His passion for Basketball and Football is legendary. His role in the school requires him to play a balancing act between building a disciplined culture and yet maintain an open and transparent pathway for his student’sprogression.

His students will tell you that he always falls on their side. He is their voice, mentor, friend, brother and father on campus. Mr. Kirimi has spear headed the school vision for its co-curricular program, taking the school to Nationals finals and winning the National Basketball trophy … times, the Drama National Trophy…. And always making it to the finals in Football, and Drama. He believes his students must be given an opportunity to excel and expresses themselves outside the classroom and maintains an open-door policy for all his learners.
The Dean or DOS as we like to address him as, says”….. the foundation we lay in our pupil today is the blueprint of their own lives, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Our youngsters must believe in their sense of being, worthiness and value in the society and strive to add to the pool of skills from their own peers. The key to success is to strive for excellence in whatever we put our hands on’. Life he says “… is a blue print to be actualized by genuine focus harmony  and a good strategy towards success”.
At Laiser Hill Academy we strive to inculcate the eternal values of self dignity, excellence and human beauty in all our pupils.

The Headmistress

At Laiser Hill Academy, the girls are managed by a headmistress. Mrs. E. Ndgewa is a well grounded young lady with… years of experience in a leadership position. She is a firm Christian who handles her girls with dignity and firmness and strong believes that the girl child needs all the extra care and attention to ensure self-confidence and her position in society.
Gender equality is a deep culture in the school where pupils understand and respect each other. Girls develop into strong minded confident individuals in a environment where they are safe and protected with all opportunity to compete and socialize with the opposite sex in a healthy manner. The headmistresses says “ The ability to withstand difficult situations without losing your mind are key to her pupils ability to navigate their foundation years and is critical to overall development of the individuals.
