Debate

Debates and Summits are a integral part of developing and improving critical thinking ,
public speaking and retention of information learned. Debates enhance teamwork and
collaboration and helps pupils develop and stand up for their own views on a varied range of topics. Laiser Hill Academy activity participates in the Model United Nations and conducts
its own Summits in school to ensure 100% participation of its students.
You don’t just debate to get good at winning arguments. Yu debate to become a more

Journalism

The Journalism club starts our young pupils on their journey of exploration and creativity at a higher level. The club horns the reading, writing and communication skills as well as
prepare the students for a the future. A future which demands individuals to have a high levels of Critical thinking and analysis skills, and individuals who are resourceful, have interpersonal skills and are creative. The future job market demands self-management and leadership skills.
The Journalism club is responsible of developing the annual school year book and are charged with the responsibility of gathering the material and do the creative work by working on the graphics and taking the photographs for the magazine.

The Journalism club also produces a news podcast ‘Now You Know’ every month which is geared towards the young teenage audience The podcast explores all current affairs and global events which impact our world from the eyes and minds of a teenager.

Chess

Research shows that chess advances high order thinking skills and enables its participants to recognize patterns and develops retention and memory skills as well as problem solving. With an empowering moto ‘We don’t lose, we learn’ Chess is played at Laiser Hill Academy as a competitive sport as well as a social activity. The club is facilitated by a specialized
Chess Coaching team from ‘Elite Chess Club’ and is patronized by none other than the Principal himself. Teachers come together with their pupils on this platform to challenge each other as equals.

Dance

DANCE at Laiser Hill Academy is taught formally and is fully integrated in the school curriculum. Dance is a medium to develop the motor skills and co-ordination of the pupils and dance lessons are used collaboratively with other formal school curricula to develop and nurture the personality of a young pupils.

Drama

The Drama club at Laiser Hill Academy is vibrant and a place to develop and harness the artistic skills a pupil has. It is a place for ‘alternative’ expression and the school participates in the National Drama festivals as well as have inter-class and inter house drama competitions.
Drama helps in not only a real time stress buster for the young teenagers in our care, but is a place where the pupils can improve their communications skills and develop their self- confidence. Swimming

The school has a full-time swimming coach who is not shy to take a dip with the pupils to teach them correct swimming skills. Swimming is an integral part of the school timetable. Parents do no pay any extra fee for swimming lessons.

Music

Music

Music at Laiser Hill Academy is taught formally as a non-examinable subject and Children have to pay extra for music lessons. Pupils are allowed to choose their area of passion and are trained in an instrument of choice, be it Guitar, Piano, Flute, Saxophone or the drum beat. Music instruments are provided for the initial learner to explore their passion.

Pupils are encouraged to invest in a instruments of their choice if they want to fully develop their talents and are free to take up extra and additional coaching and music lessons to fullydevelop their talent if required.
